EMDR Therapy
Reprocess the past. Reclaim your present.

1890677389Some memories don’t stay in the past.

They hijack your body in the present.

You’ve been through things you don’t always discuss. Maybe you’ve tried, but the feelings don’t go away.

Those memories appear in your sleep, relationships, and moments when your reaction feels bigger than the situation.

Although you try to let it go, your body won’t follow. You might not have the words for it, but you can feel it as you continue to carry the past inside you.

What does unresolved trauma feel like?

It makes you feel constantly on edge, waiting for something bad to happen. As a result, you avoid people or places that remind you of old pain.

You feel numb, spaced out, or disconnected from your body, and panic shows up “out of nowhere.”

That event keeps replaying, and you beat yourself up for how you handled it.

You don’t feel safe, even when nothing’s wrong.

This isn’t your fault.

It’s what happens when your nervous system and memory network get stuck in trauma loops.

But there’s a way to process trauma without reliving it all. It’s called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

1746359492What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that helps your brain and body fully process overwhelming experiences, so they stop running in the background and start losing their emotional charge. Rather than talk about the trauma over and over, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (usually eye movements or tapping) to support your brain’s natural capacity to heal.

Here’s how it works: We build safety and prepare your system. When you’re ready, we gently bring up a memory, just enough to activate it.

While holding that memory, we guide your attention through rhythmic left-right stimulation. Your brain begins to reprocess the memory, not as a threat but as something that’s over.

Emotions shift, thoughts change, the memory loses power, and your system updates.

It’s not about forgetting. It’s about releasing.

What does healing with EMDR feel like?

You begin to feel calmer when triggers come up, stopping the loop of intrusive thoughts or flashbacks.

That guilt or shame that you carry becomes easier to release. As a result, sleeping through the night is possible.

Speaking up for yourself without fear or collapse becomes easier, and you begin to feel like yourself again – maybe for the first time.

This process can be gentle and profound.

Here’s why I use EMDR.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I’ve seen again and again how EMDR helps clients release years – sometimes decades – of emotional pain that talking alone couldn’t touch.

When combined with other integrative approaches like Somatic Experiencing, IFS, and Compassionate Inquiry, EMDR becomes part of a deeper healing journey that honors your story without getting stuck.

We go at your pace and stay grounded. And we celebrate every shift, no matter how small.
